Rachel Ellison: “We Paint” is an interactive performance in which the audience is invited to partake in an event, thereby acting as creators. In today’s fast paced society we often get lost in every day routine. Days go by and we forget to notice the small things that differentiate one day from the next. When we choose to recognize the distinct differences in the moments of our lives; when we embrace a loved one or smile at a stranger, we slow our pace to participate in special moments that happen every day. “We Paint” is a reminder that even seemingly insignificant instants in time make an impact on you, your neighbors, and your surroundings. It only takes a single moment to make a big change. When a new artist participates, he or she takes a moment to become a part of the work and the community of artists that created the piece. The artwork is forever changed. Each day we have the ability to participate, to appreciate our moments, or to sit back and watch them pass us by. Thank you for participating. Posts tagged "Memorable Moments" are one way that I try to recognize and record "one a day". "We Paint" is an invitation for others to recognize those moments.
